Chance Upright (Smaller).jpg

Chance Anderson was born on June 7th, 2000 and has been surrounded by film and music his entire life. He is from Wylie, Texas where he began his career in music and audio in high school. Ever since seeing Interstellar in the movie theater in 2014, he knew he wanted to have a career in film sound. This inspired him to compete in his first film contest where he worked in a small closet with only a notation software and a MIDI keyboard, and won the CINE Marvin Hamlisch International Youth Film Scoring Competition in 2017. He accepted his award in New York the following year.

He currently attends Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he is receiving his BA in Commercial Music, with an emphasis in post sound mixing and audio engineering, in the School of Music. Alongside the experience of working on student and professional films doing post production audio and music composition, his education has also given him the opportunity to work in multiple recording studios both on and off campus. He's highly skilled on an SSL Duality Fuse studio console using both Dante and analog connections as well as Avid S1 and Avid S6 control surfaces. He is very proficient in utilizing Pro Tools for audio recording, editing, and mixing, and uses Cubase for his own music productions. Chance also has experience in immersive audio formats, having worked on many projects in different surround sound formats such as 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos.

He has worked with students and professionals on a wide range of projects such as short films, production audio, audio editing, studio albums, orchestral recordings, song mixing, and much more. Most recently in winter of 2024, he participated as a re-recording mixer, sound designer, audio engineer, and music mixer for "Student Accomplice," the student academy award winning BYU Animation short film.
